The Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly invites interested parties to submit a candidacy for attending the Postgraduate Studies Program (MPS) entitled: “Colon-Osteoarthritis Surgery” for acad. year 2019-2020, which leads to the award of a Postgraduate Specialization Diploma (MDE).

The Postgraduate Program “Colon-Colon Surgery” aims to provide a high level of specialized and up-to-date knowledge, as well as conduct research in the field of surgical pathology of the large intestine and rectum, so that its graduates can experience and know-how in modern issues of treating diseases of the colon and rectum. This MSc will help postgraduate students understand in depth the surgical pathology of benign and malignant diseases of the lower digestive tract and their treatment in the light of the multifaceted -in terms of cooperation of various related specialties- treatment.

The main objectives of the MSc “Colon-Orthosal Surgery” are:

the training and specialization of young physicians in a wide range of cutting-edge modern surgeries, such as Colon and Orthopedic Surgery.

the in-depth, comprehensive and based on the most modern bibliographic data training of the new scientific potential.

the provision of the necessary supplies that will lead to the production of new knowledge by the trainees.

the creation of scientists with the required skills for a successful career in the private, public and academic sectors.

preparation for postgraduate doctoral studies.

The duration of study of the MPS is three (3) teaching semesters:

1st (Winter) Semester: Theoretical training – benign diseases

2nd (Spring) Semester: Theoretical training – malignant diseases

3rd (Winter) Semester: Internship and Diploma Thesis

Attendance of the courses is mandatory.

Start of study cycle: September 2019

The tuition fees of the MPS amount to 800 euros per semester of study.

At the MPS, after evaluation by a special committee, graduates of the Departments of Medical Schools of Health Sciences of the Universities of the country or recognized similar institutions of the foreign ones will be accepted. Holders of a foreign university degree must submit the recognition of their degree by DIKATSA-DOATAP.

The necessary documents that the candidates will have to submit are:

Printed application form (you will find it on the site of the MPS).
Detailed curriculum vitae with data on the candidate’s studies, research and professional experience (with the corresponding receipts).
Certified copy of diploma or degree or certificate that the candidate is expected to graduate by the day of the start of the course (September 2019). In the case of graduates of foreign Universities, a certificate of recognition from DIKATSA-DOATAP is submitted.

4.Certified copy of detailed score.

Photocopy of police ID or passport.
Two letters of recommendation from University teachers, researchers or prominent personalities.
Proofs of foreign languages (especially English).
Two recent ID photos (attached to the application).

Interested candidates for postgraduate students can submit a candidacy file (in person or by courier) to the secretariat of the MPS and hours 10: 00-13: 00.

Conduct of the 2nd Educational Seminar of Minimally Invasive Hernia Surgery of the Abdominal Wall on May 17 and 18 at the Amphitheater of the Pasteur Institute.

The training in Robotic Surgery is offered to any interested General Surgeon, Urologist and Gynecologist in a realistic and effective way, through Hands on Courses and Workshops, by the newly established Robotic Surgery Society of Northern Greece. The first of these will take place on October 6 & 7 at the Inter-Balkan Medical Center, ensuring the access of each participant to the unique robotic surgical system of Northern Greece.

Colleagues,

In the context of the effort made in recent years by EEEX to strengthen the training of Greek Surgeons in Minimally Invasive Surgery, it decided to organize educational courses, with emphasis on video surgeries, with detailed commentary (LapSurgeryVideoClub).

These training seminars will last 2 hours, will be held every month in different hospitals in Athens (Public and Private) and will be presented by the members of the Board of Directors of EEEX.

Cognitive subjects will include Laparoscopic Surgery:

– Upper digestive tract (gastrectomy, GOP)

– Obesity

– Lower digestive tract

– Abdominal wall hernias

– Sympathetic organs (spleen, adrenal glands)

– Difficult intra-abdominal inflammatory diseases

MEMBERS of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Society of Endoscopic Surgery, actively participated in the Course “Basic Laparoscopic Skills” of students on Saturday, April 28, 2018 on the roof of the Annunciation.

EEEX (Hellenic Society of Endoscopic Surgery) is pleased to announce the launch of a program to support the training and development of laparoscopic surgery in surgical clinics throughout Greece.

HAES is very pleased to announce an intensive fellowship program of advanced minimally invasive techniques (minishadowing fellowship) for specialized surgeons.

The program covers the scientific fields of upper and lower GI, Morbid Obesity, Hernia and AWR, Endocrine and Solid organ surgery.

For a certain period of one week, the trainee will attend the maximum number of surgeries in various hospitals that work with HAES on the selected subject.

A certification of attending will be issued.

The Board of Directors of EEEX decided to grant 1 (one) scholarship for training to young surgeons.

It is training in the manometry and pH of the esophagus, as well as in the physiology of the esophageal function.

manometry ph metryH EEEX will cover the trainee’s tickets, accommodation and attendance costs for a specialized course that will take place May 2-5, 2018, in Colorado, Denver, USA.

Candidates must be General Surgeons (4th year of specialization and above) or General Surgeons, not older than 36 years of age. They will have to deal with the surgery of the upper digestive tract (Certificate of Clinical Director if they are specialists and specialized NSS Curators, or Certificate from the Private Clinic working that they have a similar surgical object)

Applications will only be accepted if they are accompanied by the relevant supporting documents (clinical certificate, photocopy of ID, photocopy of Medical degree and for specialized specialty title)
