The Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly invites interested parties to submit a candidacy for attending the Postgraduate Studies Program (MPS) entitled: “Colon-Osteoarthritis Surgery” for acad. year 2019-2020, which leads to the award of a Postgraduate Specialization Diploma (MDE).
The Postgraduate Program “Colon-Colon Surgery” aims to provide a high level of specialized and up-to-date knowledge, as well as conduct research in the field of surgical pathology of the large intestine and rectum, so that its graduates can experience and know-how in modern issues of treating diseases of the colon and rectum. This MSc will help postgraduate students understand in depth the surgical pathology of benign and malignant diseases of the lower digestive tract and their treatment in the light of the multifaceted -in terms of cooperation of various related specialties- treatment.
The main objectives of the MSc “Colon-Orthosal Surgery” are:
the training and specialization of young physicians in a wide range of cutting-edge modern surgeries, such as Colon and Orthopedic Surgery.
the in-depth, comprehensive and based on the most modern bibliographic data training of the new scientific potential.
the provision of the necessary supplies that will lead to the production of new knowledge by the trainees.
the creation of scientists with the required skills for a successful career in the private, public and academic sectors.
preparation for postgraduate doctoral studies.
The duration of study of the MPS is three (3) teaching semesters:
1st (Winter) Semester: Theoretical training – benign diseases
2nd (Spring) Semester: Theoretical training – malignant diseases
3rd (Winter) Semester: Internship and Diploma Thesis
Attendance of the courses is mandatory.
Start of study cycle: September 2019
The tuition fees of the MPS amount to 800 euros per semester of study.
At the MPS, after evaluation by a special committee, graduates of the Departments of Medical Schools of Health Sciences of the Universities of the country or recognized similar institutions of the foreign ones will be accepted. Holders of a foreign university degree must submit the recognition of their degree by DIKATSA-DOATAP.
The necessary documents that the candidates will have to submit are:
- Printed application form (you will find it on the site of the MPS).
- Detailed curriculum vitae with data on the candidate’s studies, research and professional experience (with the corresponding receipts).
- Certified copy of diploma or degree or certificate that the candidate is expected to graduate by the day of the start of the course (September 2019). In the case of graduates of foreign Universities, a certificate of recognition from DIKATSA-DOATAP is submitted.
4.Certified copy of detailed score.
- Photocopy of police ID or passport.
- Two letters of recommendation from University teachers, researchers or prominent personalities.
- Proofs of foreign languages (especially English).
- Two recent ID photos (attached to the application).
Submission of Applications from 01/02 / 2019-31 / 03/2019
Interested candidates for postgraduate students can submit a candidacy file (in person or by courier) to the secretariat of the MPS and hours 10: 00-13: 00.
